FREEZE-DRYING: PRESERVING RADISH SEEDS
For any natural product, preservation can be tricky. The goal is to keep the product as natural as possible, retain the nutritional value, but still increase the shelf-life to allow for distribution and reduced waste. Freeze-drying does just that, making it the only preservation need for Powr Nutrients Freeze-dried + Blended Daikon Radish seeds.
GREENS VS SEEDS
Our goal at Powr Nutrients was to produce a premium, nutrient-dense health supplement. To do this we started by researching the power of plants. There has been a lot of research into the nutritional benefits of microgreens, we took that one step further to find the highest source of a powerful bioactive molecule, sulforaphene.
WHOLESOME FAMILY VEGGIES
Cruciferous veggies are a ‘family’ of vegetables, part of the Brassica group, well-known for their health benefits. This colourful group of veg includes broccoli, bok choi, cauliflower, cabbage, kale and our favourite – daikon radishes.
STEPS TO SUSTAINABLE FARMING
Our freeze-dried and blended daikon radish seeds are grown in our organic farm in the Eastern Cape. At Powr Nutrients we strongly believe that everyone should do their bit to protect our earth and its precious resources for the sake of the future.
WHAT ARE DAIKON RADISHES?
Daikon radishes are the much bigger cousins of the more well-known red radishes with a milder, slightly sweeter flavour. Also known as the Japanese or winter radish, it is included in many Japanese dishes. Part of the cruciferous veggie group, they are known for their nutritional value.
